Desolation
Part of traveling that i’ve experienced is the expanse of seemingly large strips of nothingness that exist all over the world. We experience pure density in our cities, and in some places our connection between them drifts off and shows us something different.
I always find it a transformative experience. It always stands out to me that we are extremely insigficant. And I don’t mean this as a petrified pessimist, but more that it is astounding that we don’t recognize as humans that we are not in control of this giant blue dot. In fact, it’s quite the contrary.
These spaces between show us our stripped down landscapes. Our wavy sand dunes. Our highest mountains, our lowest valleys. And it shows us ourselves at our most basic form - we’re just here.
